At the start of the week we learned, via La Provence and L'Équipe, that Jean Pierre Papin was absent from the Commanderie grounds and from the training of his “Pro 2” team, which had been entrusted on an interim basis to Pancho Abardonado. The latter even sat on the bench during this Monday's friendly match against Reims (1-1). A situation caused by numerous internal tensions and which OM intends to resolve this Monday according to La Provence.
Internal tensions which are the result of a difficult relationship between the 1991 Ballon d'Or and Ali Zarrak, responsible for “Pro 2”. L'Équipe even told us that JPP had requested the intervention of human resources by accusing Zarrak of behavior close to moral harassment. A tense context inside and outside the premises of the RLD training center since Jean Pierre Papin also claims to have been threatened near his home by several men on motorbikes. A very annoying situation for JPP who decided to clarify all this publicly in the November 1st edition of La Provence: » Either Ali Zarrak leaves or I leave? It is in this spirit that we must see things. I would like to finish my season, we have built something magnificent with the kids (…) and it is priceless. I feel like we're trying to screw this up, and it's very difficult to deal with. I just wanted to clarify this because I feel like it's almost becoming my fault. »
In today's edition, La Provence tells us that OM boss Pablo Longoria met the two protagonists this Friday and that a decision could well be taken this Monday, while confirming the presence of Jean Pierre Papin on the bench of the reserve this Saturday for the trip to Corte for the 7th day of National 3.
