In Greg's Team, Olivier Bossardjournalist and consultant, spoke out following rumors from the Spanish press which suggest that Real Madrid are considering selling the former Girondins de Bordeaux midfielder, Aurélien Tchouaméni. The subject was: Is his level worrying?
« If he has reached his limits? No, not anyway. That's why I say no, because I find the word 'worrying' to be a little too strong in fact. I might have put 'insufficient' more at this point. Indeed, he is a little less well but I find that he still has extenuating circumstances which work in his favor. There is the fact that he suffers from comparison with the elders. We're talking about Toni Kroos, we're talking about Casemiro, we can add Modric. It’s obviously not easy to get behind them. Then he must assume the balance of a team which has four offensive players on the field. I feel like I'm going back to the Makélélé era, who has to manage the midfield alone while they're all up front. I find it extremely complicated. The Spanish press is reporting this, perhaps I see no more way of poking it. I'm sure they won't get rid of it. We mentioned it, last year he was capable of being useful in central defense and he was very good at that level. If there was really anything to complain about, it might be that he might win by playing a little simpler. From time to time, he tends to get a little lost in his dribbling. Let him play simpler and I think things will go better. He's definitely up to the task. »
