Born in Ouagadougou, he took his first steps with a football in the Burkinabe capital. His mother held political responsibilities there. A Member of Parliament, she was Minister of Women, National Solidarity, Family and Humanitarian Action (2018-2021).
Present in all youth categories in France up to the Espoirs, Alban Lafont was called up once with the A by Didier Deschamps, in September 2022, shortly before the World Cup in Qatar. Since then, the coach has installed his trio Maignan-Aréloa-Samba and has promising young people, like Lucas Chevalier (Lille) and Guillaume Restes (Toulouse). The first is also at the gates of the Blues.
