Another disappointing result for the Marseillais and this time at home against SCO Angers with a 1-1 draw. Here is Jonathan Rowe’s rating and assessment during this first meeting of the 7th day of Ligue 1.
Difficult evening for the Marseillais this Friday. The Angers SCO leaves the Vélodrome with 1 point and the Olympians delivered a performance that will not be remembered. Did Roberto De Zerbi make a mistake in his starting line-up? The Italian coach tried new things offensively, notably benching Amine Harit in favor of Valentin Carboni or Neal Maupay who replaced Elye Wahi. The former Everton player turned the match to the wrong side… The two teams played 10 against 10 after the expulsions of Raoliosa (26′) is Short (30′). Rowe opened the scoring (51′) but El-Melali quickly equalized with a super free kick (54′). Murillo saw his goal disallowed and OM failed to win in their stadium. A new disappointment for De Zerbi.

La note de Jonathan Rowe : 7/10
His appreciation
The supersub from the start of the season. Rowe is clearly the player who dynamites matches with his activity and his ability to be decisive. He makes another good entry into an apathetic OM, he wakes up his teammates, opens the scoring. The Englishman deserves to start a match, he is the most active offensive player in several matches.
Media Notes
Team Rating | 7/10 | The best Marseillais entered at the break and quickly scored (51st), with a spontaneity which helped him create other breaches. Placed at the forefront, the English winger has always been determined, often dangerous, and he also made Fofana shine with a good shot from the left (76th). |
Maxifoot rating | 7/10 | Rowe was quick to shine by scoring quickly after coming on. Author of a very good entry, the Englishman created another great opportunity with a shot deflected by Fofana. |
Note from FootMercato | 6.5/10 | Hero at the end of the match against OL, the 21-year-old Englishman was once again decisive by opening the scoring with a cross shot from the right (51st). Technically correct and involved at all levels, he was very close to restoring the advantage to his team but his left shot was repelled by Fofana (76th). A striking and decisive entry. |
