Starting Thursday evening in the Europa League against Glasgow Rangers and author of two assists, Rayan Cherki has just secured the services of a very well established agent at PSG.
As talented as he is irritating on the pitch, Rayan Cherki hosted the last summer transfer window in France one year before the end of his Lyon contract. A time close to PSG, which had reached an agreement with OL around a transfer of €15 million, the whimsical 21-year-old attacking midfielder had finally failed at the Parisian club to sign for Borussia Dortmund… which did not didn’t take action. After refusing several English clubs at the end of the transfer window, Cherki remained at OL, who placed him in their loft before reinstating him in Pierre Sage’s first team at the end of September.
Cherki decisive four times since the end of September
A conditional reinstatement since Rayan Cherki had to agree on September 21 to extend his contract until 2027 in order to be able to play again. In fact, Cherki extended until 2026 with an additional year as an option. If he is not transferred before the end of the 2025 summer transfer window, it will be automatically extended until 2027. A departure next summer therefore remains a very credible scenario, with both parties wanting to separate.
In the meantime, Cherki returned to the field on September 22 during OL’s incredible defeat against OM. Entering the match, he equalized in stoppage time, but Jonathan Rowe gave the Marseillais victory straight away. Also coming into play against Toulouse last weekend, Cherki started in the Europa League against Olympiakos last week, with a nice goal, and started again against Glasgow Rangers on Thursday evening in the victory 4-1 for the Lyonnais in Scotland. Match during which Cherki delivered two assists and made some classy moves.
Cherki from the Mbappé clan to Dembélé’s agent
This Friday, L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi tells us on An agent well established at PSG therefore, but who also represents other talents like Dayot Upamecano (Bayern Munich), Eliesse Ben Seghir (AS Monaco) and Serhou Guirassy, who joined this summer… Borussia Dortmund.
Until then, Cherki officially had no agent, but had been advised for several years by the Mbappé clan via Bilel Ghazi, a former journalist at L’Equipe who covered Olympique Lyonnais for several years for the newspaper. By joining the Sissoko stable, Cherki clearly seems to be preparing for a departure. And if he really moved away from the Mbappé clan, this could potentially help him join PSG where Luis Campos and Luis Enrique were in favor of his arrival last summer.
In the meantime, Cherki will already have to establish himself in Pierre Sage’s starting lineup. Not selected by Gérald Baticle last month, the Lyonnais has just been called up to the Espoirs for the Bleuets’ next two Euro 2025 qualifying matches against Cyprus (October 11) and Austria (October 15). The opportunity to talk about PSG with Désiré Doué?
