On TV7, several elected officials reacted to the day’s deliberation concerning the rents of Matmut Atlantique, vis-à-vis the Girondins de Bordeaux. She is the President of Bordeaux Métropole,
Christine Bostwhich began.
“We had already deliberated in June 2023 to modify the payment schedule. We are only modifying this schedule. The Girondins were normally expected to release a little more than €500,000 by October 15, 2024. This deadline will be postponed to future years. We are changing the schedule, so we are not creating debt. In return, the club must commit to having good sporting results, and to go back season after season, to reconnect with the elite. This is what we are also waiting for because it is important to have a high-level club for our city and our territory”
Then the chosen one Patrick Bobet.
“We have two letters of guarantee, we are keeping them while waiting to see how things will develop. These 20 million euros are not the cancellation of a debt, we are pushing back the deadlines, and that’s all that has been decided.”
And finally Thomas Cazenave.
“In the end, how much will this affair have cost us?!” We already have €20M out there, which we will probably have to make efforts in the coming years. The counterpart is that we are associated, and that we can influence the future of our club.”
