PSG eliminated from the Women’s Champions League – C1 (F) – 2nd round – PSG-Juventus (1-2)

Saint-Germain 1-2 Juventus

Goals: Leuchter (54eSP) for Parisiennes // Cantore (2e), Bonansea (72e) for the Bianconere

Dream lower.

Beaten 3-1 in the first leg in Italy, the Parisiennes had to score three goals to qualify while keeping a clean sheet. A crazy dream to which Juventine quickly ended to win 2 to 1 despite an incandescent atmosphere delivered by the Parisian ultras until the 85e minute.

The hope of a comeback reduced to nothing

The Turinese and Sofia Cantore stood out from the first seconds of play with a shot deflected for a corner by Mary Earps (2e). A corner that led to Juventus’ first goal with Cantore once again at the conclusion after having benefited from the confusion of the Parisian defense to deceive the vigilance of Earps with a clinical outside foot (0-1, 2e). Dominated in all sectors of the game, the Parisians did not manage to afford the slightest dangerous situation during the first 45 minutes.

The Parisiennes returned from the locker room with better intentions. More incisive in the game and with greater control of the ball from Fabrice Abriel’s protégés, Marie-Antoinette Katoto’s first foray into the Turin area was the right one. Broke by Martina Lenzini, “MAK” logically obtained a penalty, transformed by the new entrant Romée Leuchter (1-1, 54e). But Barbara Bonansea came to put her team in front on the scoreboard by taking the Parisian defense from behind once again on a corner (1-2, 72e).

Barring the (huge) exploit of Paris FC in Manchester later in the evening, OL should be the only French representative in the Women’s Champions League this season.
