Batubinsika struggles to get its season off to a good start

A Stéphanois since July 2023, Dylan Batubinsika returned to the French pitches under the colours of ASSE. Quickly starting in the central hinge alongside Anthony Briançon, the defender nevertheless revealed some shortcomings during the last part of the season. For his discovery of the elite, the 28-year-old defender was expected to turn the corner alongside the experienced Yunis Abdelhamid.

However, after five league games and five starts, the record is far from positive for the Congolese defender. Systematically lined up since the start of the season, the Abdelhamid-Batubinsika duo has conceded 15 goals in just five games. Saint-Étienne thus has the worst defense in the league, tied with . ASSE defender with Congo

Saint-Étienne still have to face (September 29, 5 p.m.) and (October 5, 5 p.m.) before the next international break. The national teams are authorized to recall their players from October 7 to 15, 2024 in order to play various competitions.

Called up by Sébastien Desabre last September to play in the CAN 2024 qualifiers (vs. Guinea then Congo), Dylan Batubinsika will join the Leopards in the coming weeks. The defender will participate in a training camp from October 10 to 15 on the occasion of the third and fourth days of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. Indeed, the Democratic Republic of Congo will face Ethiopia in a double confrontation on October 10 and 15.

Dylan Batubinsika will also be reunited with his former teammate Nathanël Mbuku, now a player for Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia.
