Announced as leaving during the summer, Maxence Caqueret is still an OL player. The midfielder believes that the summer transfer window was above all a game of rumors and that he never really thought about leaving the club.

He is the child of a club and he did not fail to repeat it this Friday. At OL since his youngest age, Maxence Caqueret “has the club in his heart, it’s a club that I love”. However, the adventure could have ended during the summer. Among the players with market value in the group, the midfielder was clearly a candidate for a departure since theOL needed to sell for a hundred million euros.

David Friioformer sports director, had placed Caqueret on the transfer list, like almost the entire Lyon squad. A media release that did not go without impact inside the locker room. “The sporting director made this statement and we all saw that everyone could leave, declared the native of Vénissieux at a press conference. It was a bit of a complicated period. I could have been one of those players, but I didn’t have any concrete offers.”

Less successful on the pitch since the start of the season, Maxence Caqueret nevertheless assures us that he “lived this period very serenely.” When Rayan Cherki was perhaps saying at the end of the cycle at OL at the end of last season, his sidekick has not necessarily thought about leaving. He believes that there is “There were a lot of rumors around me, and I mean rumors. There was talk of leaving, even though it wasn’t necessarily a current event.”

The interests of the Bayer Leverkusen or even of Fulham emerged over the summer, but “nothing concrete, no proposal. It’s not disappointing, OL remains a top club and if it wasn’t the right time to leave, it’s because it shouldn’t have been.” Fully focused on the OL project, Maxence Caqueret now has only one desire: to return to the Europa League with his favorite club. But certainly not his only team during his career. “There are offers you can’t refuse”.
