Everton to sign Orel Mangala from Lyon

Sean Dyche’s side had looked to be forming a relationship with the Ligue 1 giants after the interest of John Textor in buying the club.

This relationship appears to have ended before it began with the American businessman’s chances of taking over at Goodison looking unlikely [The Esk].

Despite this being the case, a deal to bring Mangala from Lyon to Merseyside looks set to be completed.

This transfer could prove to be all-important for Dyche’s squad after a disappointing and generally poor start to the Premier League season.

Conceding seven goals in two games to begin a campaign for a side that prides itself on being defensively sound isn’t good enough.

Adding the Belgian into the midfield to add some much-needed defensive physicality and protection to the back for could be important moving forward.

Coming in on loan is a deal that suits the club given the financial limbo that they currently find themselves in.
