FC Barcelona is experiencing or rather undergoing a hectic summer transfer window, marked by persistent financial challenges that limit their movements on the transfer market. Despite these constraints, the Catalan club is actively looking to strengthen its squad before the transfer window closes. After making the notable acquisition of Dani Olmo, Barça is now turning to Jonathan Tah, central defender of Bayer Leverkusen. Andreas Christensen’s injury seriously pushes the Catalans to strengthen their defense.

A showdown with Bayern?

According to Sky Germany, Barcelona have shown a concrete interest in Tah, starting discussions with his representatives. Under contract with Leverkusen until 2025, Tah has clearly expressed his desire to leave the club, either this summer or on a free in 2025. Bayer Leverkusen, although open to the player leaving, are demanding a sum of 30 million euros for any transaction before the end of the transfer window. While Bayern Munich, once interested in Tah, seem to have put this track on hold, a transfer to Bavaria remains nevertheless possible. The next few days will be crucial to determine whether the German defender will join the ranks of Barça or Bayern.
