President Diomaye calls the National Assembly for an extraordinary session tomorrow

The president of the Yewi Askan Wi parliamentary group, Ayip Daffé, has just announced on his X account the convening of the National Assembly in extraordinary session by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
“The President of the Republic calls the National Assembly into an extraordinary session. This September 5 at 10 a.m.” wrote Mr. Daffé on his X account.

In the same vein, another post came to corroborate Mr. Daffé’s announcement. This time, it is the post of Pastef MP Amadou Ba sharing the same party as Ayip Daffé. “President Diomaye has seized the National Assembly for the opening of an extraordinary session tomorrow Thursday and covering several points including the General Policy Declaration,” Mr. Ba informed on his post.

According to him, “Article 84 of the Constitution gives the President of the Republic, the PRIORITY inscription on a specific agenda of his choice”. Therefore, one can understand the order of priority on the presidential decree. Which, ultimately, takes into account the general policy statement of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.

“This constitutional privilege puts the attempted extraordinary session on BBY’s motion of censure back indefinitely. We must always take the words of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko seriously,” advised Amadou Ba.
