Everton vs Doncaster: Carabao Cup Predicted Line-Up | All Change?

Jeez. What a start.

But now Everton have a chance (surely) to pick up a first win of the season and actually see some new signings in action.

So how will Mr Dyche line up his side when League Two side, Doncaster, visit Goodison Park on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup Second Round?

Who’s Out?

No updates on the injury front, with none of the current injury list expected to return before the international break in September.

Ashley Young is back following suspension.

So the Blues will still be without Seamus Coleman, James Garner, Jarrad Branthwaite, Nathan Patterson and Youssef Chermiti.

Asmir Begovic has rejoined the Blues after a season at QPR.

EVERTON SQUAD AVAILABLE VS DONCASTER

Goalkeepers: Pickford, Begovic, Virginia

Defenders: Keane, Branthwaite (INJURED)Tarkovsky, O’Brien, Holgate, Mykolenko, Coleman (INJURED), Patterson (INJURED), Young, Dixon

Midfielders: Doucoure, Gueye, Garner (INJURED)Iroegbuman, Armstrong

Wingers: McNeil, Harrison, Ndiaye, Lindstrom

Attackers: Calvert-Lewin, Beto, Chermiti (INJURED)Maupay

Tactics and Formation

Evertonians are in full dissent mode at the moment, so Dyche will do well to ensure that all of the new signings play, along with some promising academy players.

Asmir Begovic could well mark his return with a start, although Joao Virginia donned the gloves in the cup last season.

One quick win for Dyche will be to keep Roman Dixon at right back and not reintroduce Ashley Young.

Likewise, Jake O’Brien will surely start. Ideally in the place of Michael Keane, although James Tarkowski did have a knock going into the weekend’s game. No real options at left-back, so Mykolenko will probably start again. Reece Welch might also get a chance, although it’d be wiser to utilise him from the bench if things are going well.

Jenson Metcalfe and Harrison Armstrong could be in contention for minutes here and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Armstrong hadn’t a first start following an impressive pre-season. The Blues don’t have a lot of other options in midfield, so I’d imagine Iroegbunam will start again and possibly also Gueye.

Ndiaye and Lindstrom will certainly start, and most probably on either wing.

Beto will probably lead the line, with Armstrong likely to take on Doucoure’s role, unless Ndiaye is moved inside, or McNeil or Harrison are asked to start centrally. Or Neal Maupay…
