Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe talked to the press following the team’s 2-0 win against Betis, where he broke out of his slump by scoring a brace, his first goals in front of the Bernabeu faithful.
“A great moment, I was hoping to score in this stadium, mythical, the best in the world. But the important thing was the victory, after Las Palmas it was important to win, it was a difficult match but we are Real Madrid,” he said.
Mbappe was asked about his chemistry with Vinicius on the field, and he delivered a very insightful answer.
“People talk about me and Vini, it’s normal, we are two famous players. Now I have to learn from him, his movements, what he likes on the field, we’re still getting to know each other on the field,” he explained.
The Frenchman also talked about his mentality during his first few games as a madridista.
“I have arrived at this club naturally, with humility, and wanting to have a good time outside the field with the teammates and the club, both with Vini and with the others. We have an incredible group; they are all great people as well as great players. Things will improve with Vini as with the rest of my players, tactically, technically, although we play every three days and there is not much time to train. If we all concentrate, we will have a great season, for sure,” he added.
Mbappe concluded his media appearance by explaining how he was feeling now that he was able to break his scoring slump.
“I am very well, since I arrived I say it, I am happy, people give me a lot of affection, also when I wasn’t scoring, three games for someone else is little but for me it’s a lot and the people of the club and the fans were with me, they give me the confidence to give my all for this club and this badge.”
