Ceballos, Ancelotti’s bet to seek improvement

(Updated with Betis’ starting eleven)

Madrid, Sep 1 (EFE).- Dani Ceballos is the big surprise for Carlo Ancelotti as he looks to improve Real Madrid’s game against Betis, in a line-up that includes Dani Carvajal and Brazilian Rodrygo Goes, substitutes on Thursday in the visit to Las Palmas.

After trying out Arda Güler and Luka Modric in the last two games, after losing Jude Bellingham due to injury, Ancelotti has given Ceballos the chance, who this week was close to leaving Real Madrid for Betis.

The Italian coach makes three changes to his starting team, which is forced to win after seeing the gap to Barcelona increase to seven points.

For his part, Chilean Manuel Pellegrini has opted for Moroccan Ez Abde in his starting eleven after his good performance in the last qualifying match for the Conference League, with a double.

The Real Madrid eleven consists of: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rüdiger, Mendy; Tchouaméni, Fede Valverde, Ceballos; Rodrygo, Vinícius and Mbappé.

Betis start with: Rui Silva; Sabaly, Llorente, Natan, Perraud; William Carvalho, Marc Roca; Fornals, Rodri; Ez Abde; and Aitor Ruibal. EFE
