CAN (Q) 2025 / Faé Emerse launches hostilities: “We want to qualify as soon as…”

At a press conference before the Ivory Coast – Sierra Leone match, the Elephants coach, Faé Emerse, clearly expressed his objectives for qualifying for CAN 2025.

For the 3rd and 4th day of the CAN 2025 qualifiers, Ivory Coast will have a double confrontation with Sierra Leone.

The first meeting will take place on October 11 at the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro at 7 p.m. GMT.

The second meeting will be held at the Paynesville-Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex, Liberia on October 15, 2024 at 4 p.m.

This Thursday, October 10, 2024, in front of the press, Emerse displayed its ambition to qualify after these days.

“There is no easy match, but it is up to us to make the match easy for us. We will face Sierra Leone to win. We want to qualify from the 4th day for the CAN”he said.

The Elephants coach also clarified that the selected players all have the same chance of participating in the competition.

“The cards are always redistributed, nothing is certain in the Ivorian selection. We must always remain efficient, we must remain faithful to our expectations”he declared.

Ivory Coast made a resounding entry into the CAN 2025 qualifiers. The Elephants beat the Chipolopolos of Zambia 2 goals to 0 and also defeated Chad 2 goals to 0.

Thanks to these victories, the country takes the lead in Group G with 6 points and is well on its way to qualifying for the final phase.
