Lazio veteran Pedro Enjoying Baroni’s Playing Style, Targets Champions League

After delivering another formidable display in the Europa League, Lazio veteran Pedro expressed his delight with Marco Baroni’s style.

Despite the soaking pitch, the Biancocelesti still managed to produce a positive display against on the second matchday of the Europa League group stage. The Italians beat the Ligue 1 side by four goals to one in front of the jubilant home crowd at the Stadio Olimpico.

Happy with Baroni Football

Pedro was the one who broke the deadlock in the 20th minute with a fabulous curler to the corner, before providing a sublime assist for Taty Castellanos. In his post-match interview (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the experienced winger explained how he’s enjoying life under Baroni who has implemented an attacking style.

We are in good form, we played a good game and earned a good result. I think we are all really happy. I am happy to help the team, I haven’t scored in a while. It is important for me too, to gain confidence and to show that I can play at this level.

I really like Baroni’s style of play. It’s an attacking game. We see a lot of the ball and work between the lines. Even without the ball we are much more aggressive than last season. Lazio is strong, but it is too early to say.

Pedro on Lazio Future

The former Barcelona and Chelsea man would like to focus on Lazio until the end of the season, while his future remains unclear.

I don’t know, it is difficult to say anything now. I want to stay here until the end of the season, and then we will see. It is true that age is a heavy factor, but I feel good, I’m happy and I’d like to make the most out of this season.

Champions League Objective

Pedro also insisted Lazio have all what it takes to qualify for the Champions League next season, while heaping praise on Castellanos.

European football must always be a goal for Lazio. We want to reach the Champions League and we have the ability to do so.

Taty’s transformation? It’s all about confidence. The team is also doing well in attack, even with Dia. Taty is making the most of the chances that the team is creating. He’s a very important player and still has large margins for improvement, albeit he’s already doing now.
