Brian Priske openly has doubts about the class within the Feyenoord selection

Brian Priske openly questioned the quality within Feyenoord’s selection on Wednesday evening. According to the Danish coach, there is currently not enough class in attack.

During the interview prior to the match against Girona in the Champions League, Pierre van Hooijdonk wonders why Feyenoord finds it so difficult to create opportunities and goals. Priske’s answer is completely honest: “That depends on individual quality and relationships between individual players. As a former player you know that it is important to understand each other well, that you know exactly where the other person runs to or where the pass comes. That’s what we’re missing at the moment, that individual quality and that last ball with which we can help each other.”

Feyenoord has undergone some changes this summer and also recently lost attack leader Santiago Giménez to an injury. Wednesday evening’s attacking line consists of Igor Paixao, Ayase Ueda and Ibrahim Osman. While Paixao has already played many games for Feyenoord, Ueda mainly had to make do with substitute appearances last season. Osman is only in his first weeks in Rotterdam. For midfielders Antoni Milambo and Hwang In-beom, these are also the first weeks in which they are in the starting line-up for Feyenoord. All these changes do not necessarily make Feyenoord’s attacking game razor sharp, in addition to a bit of a lack of quality that Priske is referring to.

Kees Kwakman and Mario Been were surprised at De Eretribune on ESPN Feyenoord-aanvaller Igor Paixão.
