Abdallah Sima, author of a double, and fly over Red Bull Salzburg

Led by a great Abdallah Sima, again, Stade Brestois offered a surprising recital on the pitch of Red Bull Salzburg (0-4), for the second day of the Champions League. There you have it, the Ty’Zefs achieve 2/2, they who are new to the competition.

Despite its difficult start to the Championship, where it is “only” 13th with 6 points after 6 days, Stade Brestois continues to surprise in the Champions League. Two weeks after their historic victory at the Stade du Roudourou (Guingamp) against Sturm Graz (2-1), the men of Eric Roy went on to perform a rather improbable recital against other Austrians, those of Red Bull Salzburg. The Ty’Zefs completely conquered the Red Bull Arena and managed to win with a clear score of 4-0.

Sima sees double, flies away

Author of the winning goal against Sturm Graz, Abdallah Sima did his thing again. Totally against the flow of play, the 23-year-old Senegalese striker allowed Brest to lead at the break by opening the score (0-1, 24th). Launched by Ludovic Ajorque on a lightning counter-attack, the former Slavia Prague player perfectly resisted Amar Dedic’s defensive return to finish in the cages of an eliminated Janis Blaswich. Unleashed and successful, the Brest players then settled the debates after the break.

Still performing well, Marco Bizot had to make big saves to prevent the Austrians from equalizing at the start of the second half, particularly against Dedic (64th). Just behind, Mahdi Camara hit the mark by doubling the lead in favor of the French (0-2, 66th). Irresistible in the European Cup, Sima even achieved his first double in C1, with a 10th goal in 19 European matches which allowed Brest to lead 0-3 (70th). Then comes the 0-4 from Pereira Lage (75th). And Brest is at the top of the C1 ranking.
