Super League: Club Brugge wins Battle of Flanders thanks to substitute – Football News

In the Super League there was also a match on Sunday. And not just any competition, but a real Battle for Flanders. It was an epic and tough duel, with the devil in the tail.

Club Brugge had started the season with a disappointing 3 out of 9, while KAA Gent could dream of the top places in the rankings with 7 out of 12.

Spicy Battle of Flanders

Under those conditions we had a very tough Battle of Flanders, with varying opportunities in both the first half and the second half. Heleen Jaques also really wanted to win against her former team.

That would ultimately not work, because it was substitute Clementine Reynebeau who managed to make it 1-0 five minutes before the end. That was also the final score.

Substitute makes the difference

KAA Gent still tried, but ultimately had to accept a defeat. The gap between Ghent and Club Brugge is now barely a point and blue-black still has a match in hand.

Blue-Black may/must be back at work on Wednesday evening, when they visit RSC Anderlecht for a match. They still have three games to catch up on after the preliminary rounds of the Champions League.
