Barça torpedoed in its transfer window, the top 10 most expensive transfers of the summer

A lean transfer window for Barça

As evoked SportBarça closed the market without any last-minute movement, while up to seven players from last year’s squad left the club. FC Barcelona’s summer transfer window, now closed, leaves a feeling of inadequacy compared to initial expectations, especially with the failed attempt to sign Nico Williams. Only Dani Olmo, a quality reinforcement, joined the team, while Pau Víctor, already on loan last season for the B team, was officially integrated. The departures and loans, including those of Cancelo, Joao Félix, and Gündogan, were aimed at lightening the wage bill, but the club was unable to reach the expected 1:1 rule.

Victor Osimhen blocked

Victor Osimhen is one of the players who has been the most talked about this summer. And yet, the player remains in Naples. Blocked by a termination clause that no one wants to pay and an exorbitant salary of 11 million euros per season. The club was hoping for a lucrative sale for its striker, but negotiations with Chelsea and Al Ahli did not succeed, leaving the player in a difficult situation. Despite an offer from Al Ahli of 65 million euros, Osimhen preferred to wait for an opportunity in Europe, notably from PSG or Chelsea, who have not managed to satisfy Naples’ demands. Tensions are rising as the Saudi market closes on September 2, and Osimhen finds himself in a “golden prison” with no immediate exit.
