Toni Kroos praises Borussia Dortmund transfers: “Sensational”

And how will FC Bayern fare? As Toni Kroos says in his podcast Just look aroundwhich he runs together with his brother Felix, predicts that Borussia Dortmund will surprisingly finish ahead of the Munich team this time. “My tip is that Dortmund will finish second,” says the former Bayern professional. However, “about a month and a half ago he would have said that Dortmund would finish fifth if things go well.”

In Kroos’ opinion, Dortmund “have made very poor transfers in recent transfer periods, but this summer they have done a sensational job.” The 34-year-old, who ended his career after the European Championship, praises the transfers of Serhou Guirassy, Pascal Groß, Waldemar Anton and Yan Couto in particular.

“Guirassy is a very good striker who is still injured, but when he is fit again he will score a lot of goals. With Waldemar Anton they have signed a very consistent and good central defender. And Pascal Groß is someone who brings a footballing component that has perhaps been missing in recent years,” said Kroos.

“Dortmund has strengthened itself incredibly well”

The long-time Real Madrid midfielder can only rave about Couto, who played for FC Girona last season and met Kroos in Spain: “Couto played against me at Girona, who had a surprisingly good season overall. In my opinion, he has great qualities, especially in attack and dribbling. A really good player. Dortmund have strengthened themselves incredibly well.”

Felix Kroos, meanwhile, also praised the transfer of Maximilian Beier. The 21-year-old striker, who is set to replace Niclas Füllkrug, who has moved to West Ham United, “has shown that he can score a lot of goals and still has potential to improve.”

The former Bundesliga professional largely agrees with his brother and also sees Borussia Dortmund in second place. The Kroos brothers both predict that Bayern Munich will only finish in third place and RB Leipzig in fourth place.
