Inter Milan Coach & France EURO 2024 Star Showered With Praise After 4-0 Serie A Rout Of Atalanta

Simone Inzaghi and Marcus Thuram have won significant praise after Inter Milan’s emphatic Serie A win over Atalanta yesterday.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNewsawarded both of the pair scores of 8/10 in the player ratings for the match.

Inter are heading into the international break with all the momentum.

The Nerazzurri have not just won the hardest match on paper of their first three of the season. They have done so by an eye-watering 4-0 scoreline.

Naturally, there were strong performances throughout the Inter team.

The Nerazzurri were fluid in possession, clinical in the final third, and intense out of possession.

And just as important as the four goals that Inter scored was their second clean sheet of the season.

In the view of the Gazzetta, there were two individuals who deserve particular credit for their role in yesterday’s result.

Inzaghi & Thuram Showered With Praise For Inter Serie A Thrashing Of Atalanta

Inter coach Inzaghi received a very high score of 8/10 from the Gazzetta for how he set up his team.

Atalanta are certainly formidable opposition.

But Inzaghi got his approach spot-on. Inter were able to keep up with La Dea’s intense physicality, and dragged opposition players around the pitch to create openings for themselves.

Inter looked more like last season’s team than ever in their third match of this campaign. The 3-5-2 shape looked well-oiled and effective.

Meanwhile, there is one player in particular who the Gazzetta singled out for his performance yesterday. And it is not a surprise name.

Striker Thuram scored twice in yesterday’s victory. And he also was the player who forced Atalanta defender Berat Djimsiti into an own goal to give Inter a very early lead.

Moreover, Thuram provided much more than just his goals.

For the entire time he was on the pitch, the Frenchman’s dribbling, pace, and threat in behind made him a nightmare for the Atalanta back three to try and contain.
