The eldest son of the General Caliph of the Mourides preferred to name and directly challenge the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister regarding the Sheikh Omar Diagne affair following the discourteous and defamatory remarks made against religious leaders. For Serigne Kosso Mbacké, the accusations are serious and unjustified. “He clearly said that all religious leaders are thieves and that the Magal and the Gamou are times conducive to theft and money laundering. This type of statement can be a source of disturbance to public order. It is time for this gentleman to retract his remarks. These statements are serious and can burn this country. I appeal to the sense of responsibility of those for whom he works.”

Serigne Kosso Mbacké to question, in passing, the justice of the country which must, according to him, take charge of itself just like those who are in charge of ensuring the stability of this country. “Let us maintain this country in serenity. Let us protect stability and act in the sense of not creating any form of unrest!”

He continues: “Those in power must not remain indifferent. They must react.”

This statement by Serigne Kosso Mbacké Mountakha follows a wave of discontent recorded in recent days in Touba and born from statements deemed offensive made against Touba and Tivavouane by the director of general resources of the State.
