Real Madrid has apparently lost interest in signing the Argentine top talent Franco Mastantuono. This is reported by MarkThe reason for this is said to be that the said interest became public against the will of the royals.

The Royal Club are said to have had Mastantuono on their radar for some time and scouted him locally in the summer. However, Real are now reportedly withdrawing from the race because they do not agree with the way their interest in the player was made public.

After the said interest became public, clubs such as FC Barcelona and Manchester United are said to have entered the race. Real’s top management believes that the club’s name was deliberately used to drive up interest in Mastantuono – and thus the price.

The 17-year-old Mastantuono plays in attacking midfield for River Plate, has now made the jump to Argentina’s U20 team and is said to have a release clause of 45 million euros. In the calendar year 2024, he will make 27 appearances (three goals, two assists).

In recent years, Real has repeatedly signed talents from South America, sometimes for a lot of money: Rodrygo came from FC Santos in the summer of 2019 for 45 million euros, Vinícius Júnior a year earlier for the same amount from Flamengo. Endrick was bought from Palmeiras this summer for up to 60 million euros.
