One hour until kickoff: We have lineups! Vincent Kompany has decided to go with what looks like a 4-1-4-1, with Harry Kane up top and no less than FOUR attackers behind him. Can Bayern Munich keep a clean sheet with only one midfielder in Pavlović, or will the hyper-offensive XI supersede everything else?
Bayern Munich are back home at last! Vincent Kompany is set to make his debut at the Allianz Arena for the first time since taking over as coach — a rather late start, all things considered. Most coaches would at least get one preseason game at the home ground before competitive games start.
Still, here we are. The 75,000 strong crowd demands BLOOD (in the metaphorical sense) and Kompany must deliver, or suffer the consequences. He’s got a nearly complete squad at his disposal, but there are certain question marks hanging over his selection. Will Thomas Müller be allowed to start in front of his home crowd? Will João Palhinha make his official starting XI debut? Will there be any changes to the defense? Whatever the answer, one thing is for certain.
