In the 7th week of the Super League, Galatasaray disappointed its fans by leaving the field with a 3-3 draw despite leading 3-0 against Kasımpaşa. While the yellow-red team suffered an unexpected loss of points in the home field, one of the events that left its mark on the night was coach Okan Buruk’s harsh reaction to the referee.
In the 82nd minute of the match, Fall from Kasımpaşa demanded a penalty, claiming that Jakobs made a hand intervention in the penalty area. While Kasımpaşa players objected intensely, VAR referee Ali Şansalan invited referee Oğuzhan Çakır to the monitor to re-examine the position.
After the VAR review, Oğuzhan Çakır decided that Jakobs had handled the ball and pointed to the penalty spot.
This decision caused great anger on the Galatasaray front. Coach Okan Buruk, unable to control his anger after the penalty, turned to the fourth referee and said, “The referee who gave this penalty cannot referee a match here again!” He expressed his reaction with these words.

What happens to the player if the ball lands on his arm after he jumps into the air? Either what the referee coaches said when they came to us was wrong, or the referees did it. Or the decision of the referees in Europe is wrong! Once he is ready, he will go to the air cannon. I would not give a penalty even if it was in my favor. VAR called and gave. I asked the referee about the end of the match, but he couldn’t exactly say it was a penalty. They made the opponent partner in the match.
