Head to the Estadio de Mestalla where we will be treated to a very nice match between Valencia and Villarreal. These two clubs finished outside the European places last season, with respectively 8th and 9th place in the standings. This year, the objective is clear: to return to the top roles in this championship and qualify for a European competition! In this new campaign, the two teams are at opposite ends of the table. Indeed, Villarreal is currently 2nd with a total of 7 points, while Valencia is dead last with 0 points. However, Villarreal has had a relatively tough schedule during these first days. After three days, this team has already faced Atlético Madrid, FC Seville and Celta Vigo. We also witnessed a completely crazy match between Villarreal and Celta Vigo, with a good number of goals and incredible drama. Indeed, the Yellow Submarine won 4-3 with the winning goal scored after more than 10 minutes in added time. Following a particularly stupid foul, the referee pointed to the penalty spot. The goalkeeper made a great save, but the ball came back to Dani Parejo, who just had to finish the job… What is certain is that this success will give a lot of confidence to this Villarreal team. This will have to be confirmed against the big disappointment of this start of the season, Valencia. Indeed, this team lost its first three matches and was particularly uninspired.
