Legendary Borussia Dortmund head coach Jürgen Klopp is in no rush to return to coaching, having left Liverpool at the end of last season.
Jürgen Klopp marked his return to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday as he coached Team Kuba for the testimonial match for Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski. The 57 year old was in fine form and spoke about how returning to the Westfalenstadion and reuniting with his former BVB players was “like coming home.”
Klopp also gave some insight into his future, and made it clear that he is not in any rush to make his return to coaching another club or national team. “I work, but not what I did before. I’m not just lying around, although sometimes I am. I don’t miss anything.”
“Other top coaches won’t be doing this forever either. The next generation is already out there. At some point, it will be up to them to start developing and changing football,” he added. “There are already a lot of people from back then who are getting a taste of it. And more are coming because they’re that age now. I’m really happy to watch them. And if I can help them with advice and support, I’m happy to do so. They probably think that after working with me for a while: If he can do it, we can do it too. It can’t be that difficult.”
Borussia Dortmund enjoyed plenty of success under Klopp, and won back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 before reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2013. The former Mainz 05 player and head coach then joined Liverpool, where he won the English Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season, and has been enjoying a well-earned break from football. It remains to be seen what his next destination will be, or if he will even decide to return to full-time coaching after his sabbatical.
