The leader of the deputies of La France insoumise, Mathilde Panot, announced that her group would submit, this Tuesday, September 3, its proposal for a resolution aimed at dismissing Emmanuel Macron. “The parliamentary group takes this decision as a political response on a par with the democratic coup de force that the President of the Republic is currently carrying out”, she declared during a press briefing, considering that the head of state represents “the agent of disruption of the proper democratic functioning of institutions”.
It is also, according to Mathilde Panot, a response “that is commensurate with the independence that Parliament must show in the face of a president who is increasingly acting like an autocrat.” According to the MP, this impeachment proposal “will be signed more widely than by the Insoumis group,” without giving further details.
“It is particularly shocking to see the President of the Republic, twice defeated in the elections, form his own government. We understood that if he could appoint himself, he would do so,” she criticised Emmanuel Macron, who is continuing his negotiations for Matignon.
