White House slams Putin’s ‘incredibly dangerous’ comments on war with NATO

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre criticized Vladimir Putin’s “incredibly dangerous” comments about a possible war between his country and NATO countries on Friday, September 13.

The Russian president said on Thursday that if the West allowed Ukraine to strike Russian territory with longer-range missiles, it would mean that “NATO countries are at war with Russia.”

“I don’t think much about Putin,” US President Joe Biden said on Friday when asked about the Russian president’s threats about a possible war between Russia and NATO.

The tension has risen a notch

Tensions have risen again between Moscow and Ukraine’s Western allies as US and British leaders are due to discuss whether kyiv should be allowed to use long-range missiles against Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also accused his allies on Friday of being “afraid” to discuss the possibility of shooting down Russian drones and missiles themselves, while his country is facing a growing number of air attacks. And he announced that he would meet this month with US President Joe Biden to present him with “a plan for victory” for Ukraine.

A green light for the use of Western long-range missiles against Russia was on the agenda of discussions on Friday at the White House (20:30 GMT) between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Joe Biden.
