BEIJING, September 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The 2024 Asian U-19 and U-23 Rowing Championships kicked off in Shenyang, Guangdong province on Wednesday. Liaoning in northeast China for the first time and will last until Saturday.
Hosted by the Asian Rowing Federation and jointly organized by the Chinese Rowing Association and the Sports Bureau of Shenyangthe event attracts youth rowing teams from 19 countries and regions, including China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,IranIraq, India, Kuwait, Thailand, Sri LankaSaudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, the KazakhstanVietnam, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Myanmaretc.
Teams will compete on the Hunhe River, a beautiful flatwater track in Shenyang.
The theme of the event is “Seeing the World through Rowing”, which is not only a tribute to the spirit of rowing, but also signifies that young rowers from across Asia will pursue their dreams, showcase themselves and connect with the world through rowing competition.
Participating in such an international event is a good opportunity for young rowers to hone their rowing skills and learn to persevere in the face of challenges, respect others and cooperate with them, which will be a valuable asset in life, said a competitor.
