Nathan Chesworth is a 16-year-old high school student from Manchester, UK. At the end of last year, the young man suffered from a bad cough. His doctor prescribed him antibiotics. But despite the medication, his condition worsened and Nathan began to spit bloodloses noticeably weight and becomes unable to get out of bed. “He looked awful. He wasn’t eating, he wasn’t drinking.”says her mother, Rebecca, Sun.

On the eve of his return to school in January, the young high school student collapsed, unable to breathe. His mother immediately took him to the emergency room. After an X-ray, the doctors discovered that Nathan was suffering from a pneumothorax and then spent four days, in intensive carewith a tube inserted into his lung. Shortly after, the condition of his second lung worsens and Nathan is forced to confess the truth to his mother: he regularly uses e-cigarettes, tutti-frutti flavored Puffs, which he buys for 3 pounds on the way home from school. “He told me everything and showed me everything he had, I couldn’t believe it. I was completely shocked.”says his mother. “They’re brightly colored and the kids all walk around with them like it’s cool.”
