Loaned by Castres, hooker Stefan Buruiana wants to continue his progress with USON Nevers

For his first with USON Nevers, Stefan Buruiana was served. Entering the break on Friday January 17 in Brive, the Romanian hooker who arrived during the winter break in Nevers got acquainted, victoriously, with one of the best forward packs in Pro D2. Before the last match of this block, this Friday January 24 against Agen (7:30 p.m.), the 21-year-old hooker talks about his first steps in Nevers and his journey.

His arrival in Nevers

Asked at the beginning of January about the arrival of Charlie Francoz and Stefan Buruiana during the winter, back coach Guillaume Jan highlighted the “desire” of the two players to join USON. In a hooker position far from being spared from injuries this season (Ma'afu, Jules Rosette and Maïau have been unavailable in turn since August), the player on loan from Castres (Top 14) was expected.

“Discussions began in October. Castres spoke to me about the interest of Nevers, but I got injured at that time and then I left for the selection,” explains the native of Constanta. “Nevers relaunched at the end of November and I said yes. Everyone wins. I came to get tougher and gain experience,” adds the Romanian international (four caps since March 2024).
