Colomiers won with authority with a score of 43-16 against Dax, in a match marked by a thunderous end to the match from the locals.
Columérins at the rendezvous
During this first period at the Michel-Bendichou stadium, Colomiers largely dominated against a Dax team in great difficulty. From the kick-off, the locals imposed their rhythm. A first penalty missed in the 2nd minute by Auriac did not slow down their momentum. In the 3rd minute, Pinto opened the scoring after a nice sequence from Timu and Pacome, although the conversion was missed.
Colomiers continued to push, regularly settling into the opposing 22 meters. In the 13th minute, Auriac passed a penalty to make the score 8-0. Despite some defensive attempts by the Dacquois, the Columérins scored a second try in the 25th minute thanks to Alonso-Muñoz, after good work from Pinto. Auriac transformed this time, bringing the score to 15-0. Dax, reduced to 13 players after two yellow cards (Bouche in the 22nd and Manukula in the 26th), struggled to contain the opposing attacks.
The visitors nevertheless managed to reduce the gap in the 29th minute thanks to a penalty from Seguy (15-3). Colomiers responded immediately with a new try from El Ansari in the 33rd minute, converted by Auriac, bringing the score to 22-3. At the end of the period, the Dacquois tried to react but the Columérine defense resisted solidly.
-At the break, Colomiers led by a wide margin (22-3).
A return of Dax too light
The start of the second half saw the Columérins try to maintain the rhythm, but it was Dax who reacted. The visitors reduced the gap thanks to a penalty from Seguy in the 52nd minute, followed by a try from Falatea in the 58th, converted by Seguy, bringing the score to 22-13. In the 65th minute, a drop from Seguy even allowed Dax to come back to 22-16, creating an unexpected suspense.
However, Colomiers quickly regained control. Dimcheff scored a try in the 74th minute, converted by Auriac, to give his team some breathing room (29-16). Then, Timu distinguished himself in the 79th minute by scoring the offensive bonus try, a first this season for the Columérins. Finally, Maurel definitively sealed the fate of the match with a final try at 80+ 2', transformed by Auriac.
In less than eight minutes, Colomiers had scored three tries, leaving the Dacquois helpless at the end of the match. This victory, with the offensive bonus point, confirmed the great momentum of the Columérins.
