Cros explains the secret to the success of the Rouge et Noir

Stade Toulousain never seems satisfied. After experiencing a slump following the departure of Guy Novès, the red and black club is back at the top. Since 2019, the generation led by Antoine Dupont or Thomas Ramos has compiled four Brennus Shields and two Champions Cups, all with an attractive and spectacular game. This season, Ugo Mola's men have moved up the scale once again by scoring a double after two memorable finals (against Leinster then against UBB). Despite its numerous successes, Stade Toulousain manages to challenge itself and have had an excellent start to the season.

“We want to continue to write the history of the club”

Asked about this by The DispatchFrançois Cros explained the secret to the success of the club, which recently announced the contract extensions of ten players: “We are lucky to be in a club which does not rest on its laurels, which thinks about what comes next. Here, we are always in anticipation. And to try to stay ahead of the curve, we look forward to the next three or four years. We work every day to cultivate this performance. We don't want to be satisfied with what we have done. Like this victory at the Sharks which we are not completely satisfied with. When we play here, we always want to do better, we want to continue to write the history of the club. Working with this confidence, this serenity, is something very appreciable. The extension of these ten guys will solidify the group even more. When you're at the end of your contract, it's never easy to deal with, you can have a tendency to overplay. Ten at once, it’s true that it’s still quite exceptional (he smiles). » Overtaken by UBB in the Champions Cup and Top 14, Stade Toulousain is keen to set the record straight in the coming weeks.
