Villefranche won against Carcassonne XIII 20 to 12 this Sunday afternoon, during the 12th day of Super XIII.
Villefranche, the good surprise of this Super XIII season, enters without complexes into its match against Carcassonne. Jordan Kempnich opened the scoring with a penalty. A few minutes later, Nickson Ugaia took advantage of a good release from Jordan Kempnich to score the first try of the match. The transformation is missed, 6-0.
The Canaries finally react and equalize thanks to a converted try. Morgan Andral gives the Wolves the advantage back with a new penalty but it is the Audois who take the lead with a second try. 8-12 at the break.
Stunning Villefranche
Returning from the locker room, the Wolves started again as well as in the first period. Morgan Andral reduced the score on a penalty then it was Paul Sangaré who scored. It’s converted and the score is 16 to 12.
Villefranche added two more penalties, one by Jordan Kempnich and one by Morgan Andral to win 20-12 against the French champions.
