The groups for the Cape Town sevens Rugby tournament have been revealed. The Blues will face New Zealand when the French should qualify without problems during this second stage of the world circuit, which will take place with a new format.
After the first stage of the world rugby sevens circuit season in Dubai last weekend, no time to rest. Head to South Africa and Cape Town to set the table again at the end of the week. The groups were drawn at random. The French, fifth in the United Arab Emirates, will cross swords with New Zealand and the USA. The New Zealanders finished the first tournament just off the podium. If they lost several executives who returned to XV after the Olympic Games, like Leroy Carter (Chiefs) or Che Clark (Blues), we can bet that they have some new nuggets ready to take over from them. The Americans finished this first stage in twelfth and last place without having won the slightest victory, even though they had been able to hold on to the Blues during the Olympics (12-12). These are good tests for young Blues.

The French, bronze medalists in the UAE, will face Ireland and Spain. The Irish placed sixth in the Emirate, the Spanish eleventh. If they submit copies consistent with their status, Romain Huet's daughters should qualify without trembling.
A change of format
Even if you have read Hens of Three, you are wide awake this Monday morning. Because a new format is being implemented in Cape Town. Completed the quarter-finals. The first in each group will therefore qualify directly for the semi-finals. While it is very surprising to change format from one week to the next, the teams will have to adapt and avoid the slightest misstep, which is undoubtedly fatal, in the group stage.
