Things that really stick to our rugby,” praised Virgile Lacombe at a press conference 24 hours before challenging Racing 92.

It's nice to have a player who doesn't take time to adapt to be at the level of our team and who is able to play an important match at home. Afterwards, Clément is a hard worker, he is rarely injured and it shows on weekends. It’s good for him and it’s good especially for the team.

Areas of progress identified

It must be admitted that with his round double meter and his 123 kilos, the Ariégeois demonstrates a more than interesting ease of movement in the movement game advocated by the Rouge et Noir.

But the Toulouse staff does not forget the priorities of the position of 2^e line. Sometimes ungrateful, certainly, but oh so essential.

“We still have work to do with Clément. There are areas of progression in the combat phases, on which he places particular emphasis and on which he works regularly. Both in training and during match periods, he always has work to do,” breathes Lacombe.

And if Clément Vergé continues to work as his coach describes, he who is about to extend his contract until 2027 in Toulouse could well find a good place in the sun.
