Meeting today in Dublin, the World Rugby Rules Committee plans to suspend, until May 2025, the new rule on twenty-minute red cards. This decision will be submitted to a vote by the World Rugby Council on Thursday, after which the new president of the international body will be elected. According to a source close to the leaders, this postponement has a strong chance of being validated because this rule, applied this summer during the U20 World Championships, has only been tested for two weeks with senior international teams.
