Rugby union: the pill is difficult to swallow for Sète rugby players

The score is heavy (38-15), with this defeat conceded this Sunday on the SMUC field. But it can in no way summarize the overall performance of the RC Sète troops.

After conceding a try at the start of the match, the men of Éric Piazza and Anthony Estruch immediately got back in the direction of march. A try from Labroue after a quarter of an hour of play put the two teams back on level terms (7-7). Same observation at the foot, with an opposing penalty in the 33rd minute and the response from Mouss Amakrane two minutes later (10-10).

Alas, the blow to the head would arrive just before the break, with a try as avoidable as it was fraught with consequences. Trailing 17-10, the Sétois did not recover and conceded two new tries quickly (29-10, 44th). Without these fatal six minutes, RC Sète held up the comparison.

This defeat is the third in four days, but the Sétois must keep their heads high. This is all the more important as the next two matches (US Mourillon and RC Draguignan) will take place at the Bayrou stadium…
