Jiff: the RCT ahead of passage times, explanations

Whether you are in the aisles of Mayol or drinking a coffee at the Campus, you have inevitably been asked the question since the restart: “This year, clubs must field an average of how many Jiffs?”

A problem which is of particular interest to supporters, as the RCT has flirted with the red line for two seasons.

And here is the answer: this season, Top 14 clubs are required to achieve an average of 16 Jiffs over the entire season (including the final phase).

Below 16, the club is exposed to a loss of points for the coming season(2) and a financial sanction. Between 16 and 17 Jiff on average, the club is in the nails.

On the other hand, a club which exceeds 17 Jiff over the entire season would access a “Jiff fund”, understand: financial aid.

The RCT with 66 Jiff out of the 64 expected

With amounts that vary in stages: from 17 to 18 Jiff, a sum between 220,000 and 265,500 euros. From 18 and 19, a sum between 270,000 and 319,500. And beyond 19 Jiff, 320,000 euros.

And the RCT in all this? If they can no longer count on the presence of Rayan Rebbadj with VII (made available to the FFR by last year, the winger brought in one Jiff per week to the RCT), Pierre Mignoni and his staff are nevertheless in advance. With 16 Jiff aligned against and , and 17 against and , the RCT is currently at an average of 16.5 Jiff. Or rather at 66 Jiff out of the 64 expected since the start of the season.

1. Players from the training sector.

2. 6 points between 15 and 16 Jiff. 8 points between 14 and 15. 10 points between 13 and 14. Etc.

Diet adapted for those promoted

Note that the Jiff system is a bit different for promoted clubs.

Indeed, for the season following the rise to the Top 14 (Vannes this season), the promoted must reach an average of 14 Jiff on the scoresheet (15 if he aspires to access part 1 of the Jiff background).

The second season (no club is concerned in the current exercise, since made the elevator), the promoted must achieve an average of 15 Jiff (16 to access part 1 of the Jiff fund).
