Jeffrey’s decision leaves the way open for the three remaining candidates to run in the November elections. All are former internationals, including Brett Robinson (54), the former Australian flanker who, if he wins, would become the first World Rugby chairman from the southern hemisphere. The other two contenders are former France captain Abdelatif Benazzi (56), the last to declare himself, about ten days ago, and Italian Andrea Rinaldo (70, 4 caps) who will be supported by the new president of the Italian Federation, Andrea Duodo.
