Before their match against the Sharks this Saturday in the Champions Cup, the players and staff of Stade Toulousain paid tribute to the young Medhi Narjissi, who passed away on August 7 in South Africa.

Stade Toulousain had planned everything for a long time. “We planned to stay the whole week in South Africa. This will allow us to give a nod to a country that touched us and that touched one of us last summer. We will go for a time of contemplation on site”declared President Didier Lacroix a few days ago. Players and staff therefore gathered, a few days before the Champions Cup match against the Sharks, on the Dias Beach square where the young Medhi Narjissi disappeared on August 7.

A moment of contemplation planned in agreement with the family of the club's former hopeful. No reaction will be made publicly after this tribute and no image of this moment will be published. The group will fly this Tuesday evening towards Durban to prepare for the meeting scheduled for Saturday (4 p.m.). As a reminder, a poignant tribute was paid to Medhi last September before the Rochelle meeting.

Medhi Narjissi, trained in , was one of the hopes of French . During a recovery session with his teammates from the French under-18 team, he was carried away by the current. His teammate Oscar Boutez tried to save him, in vain. Last October, the Agen public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation for “involuntary manslaughter”.
