Stade Toulousain will face Exeter tomorrow for the second day of the Champions Cup, before returning to the Top 14 pitches. Leader of the championship, the reigning French champion club seems very well on its way to being there in the phases finals and thus defend his title next June. But it turns out that Ugo Mola, manager of the Rouge et Noir, may well have to do without one of his stars for the final sentences. So whoever is one of Mola's best players could be expected to represent the British and Irish Lions when they tour Australia next summer.
Willis absent from the final stages with Toulouse?
It turns out that the English third row could be taken by this tour to Australia. The Lions' first test match is scheduled for June 20 at Twickenham, against Argentina. This same week, the best Top 14 teams will compete in the semi-finals of the championship in Lyon. The Englishman, never yet called up for the British and Irish Lions, could thus experience a very complicated dilemma at the end of the season and that would not suit Ugo Mola's business.
