It's the end of a five-month-long serial : this Tuesday, December 10, the two players of the XV of France Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou were acquitted in the case of their indictment for aggravated rape, at the beginning of July in Mendoza (Argentina). This decision by Judge Eleonora Arenas follows several months of investigation, expertise and various hearings, of course, but above all a final hearing which took place on the morning of November 25, still in Mendoza.
Around the Argentine magistrate were then grouped the prosecutor in charge of the case, Dario Nora, the counsel of the two international tricolors, master Rafael Libaronaas well as the lawyer defending the plaintiff Maria Soledad since day one, lawyer Natacha Romano.
The complainant has three days to appeal
And Oscar Jegou et Hugo Auradouindicted on July 7 in Argentina, had both recently returned to competition in Top 14 with their respective clubs (Stade Rochelais and Section Paloise), they still remained subject to this accusation in the eyes of public opinion. They can today consider themselves completely cleared by the Argentine justice system, Judge Arenas having fully followed the recommendations of the prosecution, which had been calling for their release for weeks.
However, the plaintiff and her lawyer now have three working days to appeal the decision of the Argentine courts.
