Naoto Saito had to get used to a whole new life. This summer, the scrum half was the only recruit from Stade Toulousain. The Japan international arrived straight from his home island, without speaking the language or knowing his teammates. He quickly blended into the red and black game by making several quality returns. Slowed down by an injury, Saito will now try to settle into the rotation and support Antoine Dupont. A different relationship to punctuality
He thus claims to have been struck by a significant difference in terms of respecting schedules: “I just remember one time, I had an appointment with the physiotherapist and I was a little late. So I raced to get there on time and arrived barely a minute after the scheduled time. When I arrived, the physiotherapist told me that I didn't need to rush like that. I felt a cultural difference because in Japan, you arrive 5 to 10 minutes early when you go somewhere. It's not that hard to adapt but I've noticed some surprising differences like that. » The famous Japanese rigor illustrated.
