Marco Trauth, a young pillar of just 24 years old, is on loan to Béziers from Stade Toulousain, where he leaves the training center. He is one of the spearheads of the ASBH front eight. Even if at any time he could be called upon to join Toulouse, he gives himself without counting for the red and blue jersey. He will be one of the assets against Agen, in a match which promises to be tough in terms of combat and aggressiveness.
He seems somewhat nervous about speaking to the press. But Marco Trauth, just 24 years old, does not lose his means. The voice is calm, the holder of a bachelor's degree in management expresses himself clearly and lucidly. He was loaned to Béziers from Toulouse. The French champion is likely to call him back if necessary, especially when players are missing.
This was the case last season during the Six Nations tournament. However, he admits to being very well in his crampons, at ASBH, which hosts Agen, this Friday, November 29 (7:30 p.m.). In any case, he wets the red and blue jersey with enthusiasm: “I always try to give my best, no matter what colors I wear, I play 100%. assures the pillar who made his debut at the age of 5 in Muret. Toulouse or Béziers, these are two special atmospheres. Béziers is a great club which makes you want and enjoy playing.”
Able to play on the left or right as a prop
After a stint in Auch, Marco Trauth joined the Stade Toulousain training center. Enough to climb the ladder to play Top 14 matches with the most successful French club in the championship. This allowed him to gain certain major assets, such as his ability to evolve on the left, as well as on the right, in his preferred position. In Béziers, where the competition is tough but accepted on the front line, the young Rugby player has become a key player over the course of the matches: “This competition pulls the team up,” assures the pillar who admits to being supported by the old veterans of the club, like the essential Francisco Fernandes, 39 years old and still feared by his peers.
“We don’t have the right to make a third mistake at home”
This observation confirms the good form and state of mind of a Béziers team which hopes to achieve a fourth victory in a row this weekend against Agen. Marco Trauth does not hide the fact that after a beneficial weekend break to recharge his batteries, everyone has put on their warm-up blues again: “We look at the ranking, he concedes. We want to have more good times. We are playing for these end of season matches. We have already made mistakes twice at home and we have no right to make a third mistake. Agen will want to win and we will have to counter them by banking on our strengths. If we put in the necessary desire, it should go well. Agen is not one of the teams we fear. We just have to beat everyone. This is our goal. The Agenais have a big scrum. Up front, you will have to be committed and hit hard. The trap would be to say that this is not an effective team because they have lost their last three matches. The best thing to do will be to give the maximum of ourselves in all sectors.”
Agen is warned.
