World Rugby has announced that the draw for the 2025 World Cup, which will be held in England, will take place next Thursday. France will be seeded.
From August 22 to September 27, 2025, the tenth edition of the Women’s Rugby World Cup will be held in England. An edition which will be marked by an increase in the number of teams, which will go from twelve to sixteen. And the draw for this World Cup will take place next Thursday, October 17, World Rugby reported. To date, ten teams have already qualified: Canada, France, Brazil, Ireland, South Africa, Japan, the United States, Fiji, New Zealand, defending champion, and England, organizing country. The remaining six places will be allocated at the end of WXV 2024 this weekend. The top four teams in the World Rugby rankings (England, Canada, New Zealand, France) will be seeded in the group stage, which will consist of four groups of four teams.
France still third?
The competition schedule will be revealed on October 22, but we already know that England will play their opening match in Sunderland, and the other two group matches in Northampton and Brighton and Hove. The quarter-finals will take place in Exeter and Bristol, the semi-finals in Bristol and the final at Twickenham.
