Liam Gallagher couldn’t help but do Liam Gallagher when responding to the disgruntled

MUSIC – After 15 years of absence, Oasis will return to the stage next year. After the euphoria, the comedown was a bit harsh for fans when they discovered the ticket prices for this reunion tour. To the point of becoming a real controversial subject across the Channel, which even the political class has seized on. But Liam Gallagher, co-founder of the Britpop group, does not seem to appreciate the remarks on this subject.

Oasis to play in 2025: Tour turns into controversy in UK and Ireland over ticket prices

Until now, the two brothers had remained relatively in the background, communicating unilaterally about the opening of sales, or the addition of concerts. But this Friday, September 6, very active on social networks, Liam Gallagher could not help but comment on the said “controversy”. On X (formerly Twitter) the singer thus posted a message heavy with cynicism.

« OASIS is back, you’re welcome, and I hear people complaining. It’s good to know that some things never change. »

But the leader of the group did not stop at these few words. He actually replied: Shut up » to an Internet user who does not ‘« didn’t expect them to extort so much money from their fans, it’s a shame. “To another who asked him if he had any tickets set aside, he joked: ” tons, but it’s going to cost you a fortune, 100,000 pounds and on your knees ».

Dynamic pricing

Behind the price controversy, it is above all the “dynamic pricing” used by resale sites that is targeted. In a press release published on Wednesday, the group assures that it had not validated the use of this process in advance: “In meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s team, a positive strategy for ticket sales was established that would provide a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to keep prices low and avoid resales, but the execution of the plan has not met expectations.”

As a result, the band has announced two additional dates at Wembley on September 27 and 28, 2025. Dates added due to “phenomenal demand.”

The purchasing process will this time be “staggered” and with “an invitation-only draw”the band explained on X. Priority will be given to UK fans who were unable to purchase tickets during the initial sale on Ticketmaster. Before it has even started, Oasis’ tour is already more rock’n’roll than ever.
